JANET ODEI PAINTSIL CONFIRMED AS DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF AGONA EAST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY.

Assembly Members of the Agona East District Assembly of the Central Region, yesterday 23rd October 2021, confirmed the nominee Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil for the position of a DCE for Agona East.

She was nominated after the total rejection of Hannah Asamoah who was initially nominated by the President and was rejected by the Assembly Members. She secured only 10 votes presenting 33% of the total votes.

Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil, who, herself, is an Assembly Member of the same District, representing the people of Ahorso/Odumase electoral area in Agona Kwanyako, secured 84% of the 30 valid votes of members present and voting. 25 of the Assembly members voted YES while only 5 also voted NO.

Janet Odei Paintsil’s appointment is big welcoming news to the Chiefs and people of Agona East particularly members of the ruling New Patriotic Party. The NPP members in the Constituency believe Janet is a unifier and will unify the rank and file of the party and also because there is a vast variety of experienced professionals and power brokers behind her. They maintain that, “Jane is a humble but hardworking patriot whose loyalty, commitment and service to the party is one without questions”.

In her acceptance speech, Miss Odei Paintsil expressed profound appreciation to the President of the Republic for “considering the fact that women in local politics is the new paradigm shift for community development”. She pledged her total commitment to promoting government business and ensuring that the development agenda of the President benefits the people of Agona East.
She thanked all and sundry for the honors and encouraged the grassroots to mobilize behind her to achieve results for the District.
