Agonaman Youth Awards is to reward young men, women and organization every year in recognition of their outstanding work in the field of societal development and social service.
The award shall be given for identifiable excellent work for youth in different fields of developmental activities and social service such as health, research and innovation, culture, promotion of human rights, art and literature, entrepreneurship, active citizenship, community service, sports and academic excellence.
There shall be 33 award categories and honorary awards.
Individual Award: Plaque and Certificate
Award to Voluntary Youth Organizations: Plaque and Certificate
The individuals will receive the award in their traditional attire as a way of promoting and projecting the culture of Agonaman.
OBJECTIVES OF THE AWARDS
To motivate young persons (aged between18 – 40 years) to achieve excellence in the field of societal development or social service.
To encourage young people to develop a sense of responsibility to the community; thus to improve their potentials as good citizens.
To recognize the outstanding work of voluntary organizations working with the youth for development and social service.
CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY
The nominee must be a citizen or an inhabitant of Agona;
The nominee must have been engaged in development work for more than 12 months, either in a professional or voluntary capacity;
The nominee should be between the ages of 18 – 40years;
The nominee should have done extra-ordinary identifiable social work;
Organizations or social clubs must have been established in Agona or operate within Agonaman.
PROCESS OF NOMINATION
Individuals can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone who can describe their development or social work.
The nominations shall be carried out on both digital and manual platforms
