He is a royal native of Agona Duakwa via Agona Swedru in the Central Region, Ghana. He became the member of parliament for Agona and also a former Ashanti reginal minister. He is the senior brother of the current minister of state, tertiary, Prof. Kwesi Yankah.

“To commemorate my 75th birthday, I dedicate this new project to the youth of the world – the Pan African Heritage World Museum which is to provide the resource for the unlearning, and relearning the history, culture, ideals and civilization of Africa from the creation of humankind to the present in order to inspire a new awakening and consciousness. The Museum project which has been endorsed by the African Union Commission and Office of the President of Ghana will be officially launched September 21.
