National Cathedral: Despite the project’s halt, Dr. Joyce Aryee insists salary payments must continue.
Even though construction is still on hold, Dr. Joyce Aryee, a member of the Board of Trustees for Ghana’s National Cathedral project, has vehemently defended the choice to continue paying employees their salaries. In response to concerns regarding the project’s stopped progress, Dr. Aryee clarified that it is not feasible to suspend salaries during this time because crucial work is still being done to guarantee the project’s eventual completion.
She emphasized that the Cathedral’s fundraising delays are a normal part of the difficulties that big projects encounter. In reference to the financial difficulties that churches and individuals frequently face when starting large-scale projects, Dr. Aryee stated, “It takes time.” “The key word is ‘yet.’” She maintained her optimism.
Dr. Aryee said, “Just because construction is on hold doesn’t mean that the work stops.” She called the proposal to stop paying salaries “ridiculous” and underlined the significance of maintaining the project’s advancement, which extends beyond actual building.
Despite the present financial obstacles, Dr. Aryee reassured that the National Cathedral project is still on track for completion and asked for patience as fundraising efforts continue.
“There is nothing to hide,” Dr. Aryee stated.
Dr. Aryee promised that the whole financial information of the National Cathedral project will soon be made public and reassured the public that more audit reports would be made available in due course.
