I wanted to be a rapper but switched to singer because… Bisa Kdei reveals

Ghanaian award-winning highlife musician Ronald Kwaku Dei Appiah, affectionately known as Bisa Kdei, has revealed the deep genesis of his music career, stating that he once did rap but later decided to concentrate on singing.

Narrating this story to Dj Qwequ on Ahomka FM based in Elmina in the KEEA municipality, central region, he hinted on how he started with a group named (Boys In Serious Action) BISA. Made up a rapper and 2 singers.

Further explanation revealed that he, Bisa Kdei, once wanted to be a rapper but wasn’t happy with rapping ability and decided to channel his energy into singing because he sees himself as a highlife musician and not a rapper.

“I started with a group made up of one rapper and two singers. I was a singer, but I later felt like doing rap. I was never impressed with my rapping style, and it was dull to me, so I quickly got back to singing because I see myself as a pure highlife artiste and not a rapper.”

He ended by adding that his other reason is to be able to do and sell highlife music more as he would as a rapper.
