Filmmaker Frank Gharbin pleads to President Akuffo-Addo to make the Film Bill a Legislative Instrument to save the film industry.

A very passionate and committed Filmmaker Frank Fiifi Gharbin has once again pen down an appeal to the President to consider making the film bill a Legislative Instrument to help the stakeholders hold a legal document to regulate filmmaking in the country. Below is what he wrote;

PRESIDENT AKUFFO ADDO MUST PASS THE LEGISLATIVE INSTRUMENT(Li) OF THE FILM BILL NOW TO SAVE THE FILM INDUSTRY.

Somewhere In 2016, I Had The Privilege Of meeting The Then President Of Ghana His Excellency John Dramani Mahama Praising One Of My Hit Movies..(OBRONI HIANII) As One Of His Favorite Ghanain Movies He Relaxes With…As This Became News, I Also Took The Opportunity To Thank Him And Show Appreciation To Him And Also Took The Opportunity, To Tell Him To Help Pass The Film Bill Before His Term Of Office Expires To Help The Development Of The Film Industry…With The Help And Agitation Of Other Stakeholders Who Have Been Battling For The Passage Of The Film Bill For Years, President Mahama Passed The Bill Before Leaving Office.

However, The Passage Of The Film Bill Is Almost Meaningless Unless It Is Link With The Passage Of Legislative Instrument To Make It Fully Operational…5 Years Into The NPP Administration, This (Li) Has Not Been Passed..It’s Sad, That Always Film Makers Have To Agitate Or Demonstrate Before What They Rightfully Deserve Is Giving To Them…We Also Deserve A Better Life And A Better Future, We Also Deserve Our Fair Share Of The National Cake….On This Note, I’m Appealing To The President NANA AKUFFO ADDO And The Institutions Concern To Help Facilitate The Passage Of The Legislative Instrument Of The Film Bill, Thanks
