Black Stars have jumped from 68th to 64th in the most recent FIFA rankings, a four-place increase.

Even yet, they are still ranked 12th in Africa. With the break in their seven-game losing run earlier in June, this upward shift in the rankings is the Black Stars’ first rise in a long time.

Their incredible comeback victory over Mali on June 6 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers marked the start of their return. Ghana won 2-1 thanks to goals from Jordan Ayew and Ernest Nuamah in the second half.

The four-time African champions then prevailed against the Central African Republic (CAR) in an exciting 4-3 match, maintaining their remarkable streak. Ghana’s FIFA ranking increased after this thrilling match, as they tied for first place in Group I of the qualifications.

Argentina continues to lead the world standings, closely followed by France and Belgium.

The Black Stars are hoping for more success in the future qualifications and contests because of their previous results, which have rejuvenated the team and given them hope and confidence.

The team will shortly start getting ready for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers before making changes to the remaining 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the next game.
