ANIBOK STUDIOS (NEW YORK) PARTNERS ANCIFF TO TRAIN YOUNG FEMALE FILMMAKERS IN GHANA
A day’s workshop for Young female film directors geared at educating and providing the necessary
foundation in handling film production equipment and tools required to enter the foreign market is slated
to start on 9th March at the Lacruz studios in Opiekuma-central region.
The workshop, is being organized by ANASE CINEMA INTERNATIONAL in partnership with Anibok
studios New York to train and promote Young Female Filmmakers on the international market.
The workshop which forms part of activities(Trainings) line up to mark this year’s maiden edition of the
Ananse Cinema International Film Festival (ANCIFF), will also educate Young female film directors with
the technical and scientific aspect of Directing and handling of production equipment
The highlights of the Film festival include seminars and symposiums on different production genre.
It is expected that many Filmmakers, Cinematographers, Production owners and all stakeholders in the
Film industry will meet to share ideas and to throw more insight into their activities.
Benefits of this workshops are enormous and participants will be introduced to our style of filmmaking.
and will further introduce participants to foreign expertise and avenues in the film industry.
Participants will also be made aware of the legalities and policies of the industry as a whole, such as
copyright, directing and producing among others.
The Director and producer of the festival Rev.Bro.David Kpobi C.S.C in a chat with us said the workshop
would help improve the current filmmaking and copyright system and educate the industry players on the
advantages and benefits of filmmaking.
Rev. David said the workshop aligned with ANCIFF’s vision of ensuring that member and young females
acquired basic skills in FILMMAKING to enable them meet international standards.
He added that it had an objective to market Ghana’s Film on the international market and to create a
platform to bring together new and young filmmakers especially young female to explore the future of the
industry.
Well-seasoned players in the film industry and resource persons will take participants through topics such
as cinematography, filmmaking and directing.
