All you need to know about MC Candy
Richard Mensah, popularly known in Showbizz as Mc Candy, with the accolades Odogwu Hypeman, Energy Gad, and crowd controller, was born on October, 1987, at Elmina. He studied at Edinaman Senior High School and holds a diploma in education from Komenda College of Education and a degree from the University of Education, Winneba. Mc Candy is a professional facilitator in the Ghana Education Service.
As a versatile person, he’s good at acting and has been featured in several movies and series. He worked with comic actors like Alatiawe, Effua Nkoso, and several movie stars. Mc Candy also had passion for music and recorded songs with sensational artiste like Boggy Wenzday and Bubulubu, but due to reasons to explore other fields, he stopped music and concentrated on being an MC and hyper.
He added event organization to his field by organizing a talent show for kids in the basic schools in Abrem Agona in-between 2014 and 2017, and for four consecutive years he trained kids in music, dancing, acting, and poem recital. All four events were successful, and it helped these kids develop their talent. Some of them are now into music and acting. Because there was no one to host these events, Mc Candy took it upon himself to host these shows, and the rest is history now.
From these, you can see he had a passion for it. Mc Candy has been funny since birth, and manifestations can be seen in the programs he MCed. His versatility is top-notch, and he has been the host for most cooperative events, entertainment shows, gospel shows, wedding events, and club events, among others, which considers him one of the best MCs in Ghana.
Mc Candy has worked for several pubs, both in the central region and beyond. He currently works as the Hypeman for the well-known pub in Cape Coast called Whispers Tales since 2022.
MC Candy has hosted over 500 weddings, naming ceremonies, engagements, and birthday parties. He has hosted events with a lot of top musicians, both at clubs and mega events. Some of the big events he hosted are:
